DACC

Direct Air Capture Coalition (DACC) is advocacy platform designed to connect, educate, engage, and mobilise societal action around Direct Air Capture solutions. They are a collaborative, multi-stakeholder coalition to accelerate deployment of direct air capture solutions as a means of addressing climate change.

Their manifesto is to support the global effort to address climate change by bringing together diverse, global leaders from technology, business, finance, government, and civil society to connect, educate, engage, and mobilise around Direct Air Capture together.

The design targeted a broad range of demographic, from policymakers, corporations and investors, to environmental activists and emerging climate/carbon start-ups. As such the tone of voice for the design sought to be formal but educational, approachable, with a pressing message that is urgent but hopeful.

The desired aesthetic aimed to communicate natural colours but not be gimmicky, or hackneyed “green” or enviro images (flowers, people running through meadows, mountain streams, etc). Instead we wanted abstract imagery that calls to mind human happiness, natural balance, and clean, modern high technology.

The final design plays on the cyclical flow of nature and life, the complete and perfect qualities of symbiotic exchange, and visually represents the elements water and air used in the process of carbon capture.
